Insomniac’s Discovery Project is giving up & coming DJs an extraordinary chance to play at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival Orlando taking place on November 8th and 9th.
The winner of last year’s Discovery Project EDC Orlando contest was M35. He recently collaborated with Makj to create “Revolution,” supported by Sander Van Doorn, Hardwell, Nicky Romero, Laidback Luke, R3hab, & Tritonal.
How to Enter:
Submit an original track and a thirty-minute DJ mix for consideration by Discovery Project judges.
Upload your track using your account on the Discovery Project website;
Songs must be no longer than 10 minutes;
Submit an MP3 file with a minimum bitrate of 320 kbps;
Do not use any uncleared samples. The definition of an ‘uncleared’ sample is a loop, sample or musical work for which you do not own the copyright (i.e.: you didn’t create it). You are free to use sounds that were created by you and/or royalty-free loops and samples. The submitting party bears all responsibility for their use of any ‘uncleared’ content.
Upload your DJ mix to Mixcloud;
DJ mixes must be approximately (30) minutes in length;
Title the mix Discovery Project: EDC Orlando 2013
Tag your mix Discovery Project: EDC Orlando 2013
Add an accurate tracklist to your mix.
Include a link to your mix when prompted on the Discovery Project website.
How Insomniac Will Choose:
Insomniac will select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one which meets all the guidelines and Official Rules outlined herein.
Insomniac will select a candidate whose track displays an optimal combination of originality and professionalism, and whose DJ mix demonstrates boldness and precision.
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase or payment will not improve your chances of winning. The entry period for this contest will begin on September 12th, 2013, at 3:00PM EDT and end on October 4th, 2013, at 11:59PM EDT. This contest is governed by these Official Rules and is subject to all applicable U.S. federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited.
The winners will…
· Perform at EDC Orlando on November 8th or 9th, 2013.
· Perform during an official Discovery Project online digital music festival on Mixify.
· Be considered for Insomniac’s forthcoming DJ management and music marketing platform.
One local winner will perform an opening set at Evolve Group’s Kontrol Saturdays at Roxy Nightclub in Orlando.
Insomniac will provide…
· (1) hotel room for each winner (or winning entity).
· (1) round-trip domestic flight for each winner (or winning entity) residing more than 200 mi from Tinker Field. (In the event that a winning submission is entered by a group or multiple individuals, only one flight will be provided for each winning entity.)
The “Winner Notification Date” is October 20th, 2013.
