Axwell Confirms No SHM Reunion in the Works | TURN UP THE BASS

The Swedish House Mafia (SHM) were the biggest EDM phenonmenom to take the world by storm since Daft Punk.  It took everyone by surprise when they called it quits last year.

Any chance of a SHM reunion in the near future was put down by Axwell who recently spoke out on the matter.

“No, I don’t think so,” Axwell said. “It’s hard to say, but that’s how it is now – I mean, we just stopped… I haven’t really started to miss Swedish House Mafia yet, because it’s only been so short. But I’m sure if I had stopped everything then I think I’d be pretty devastated.”

He went on to say:

“Getting to play your music to these huge-ass crowds… That’s superior to everything. You watch that on TV when you’re a kid, you see rock stars playing arenas and you think ‘wow, that’s so surreal, I wonder how that is?’ And that’s what we’ve been doing.

“But it’s been cool [going solo] – before we used to have four really stressful careers going on at the same time, and now it’s a little bit more relaxed. You actually have the time to catch up on yourself, whereas before we were just running after Swedish House Mafia, trying to please Swedish House Mafia.”

Axwell was always the driving force behind the SHM in my opinion.  Luckily much to millions of fans’ delights he has continued to put out quality tunes such as a brand new remix of “Center Of The Universe” by hot up and coming Polish producer Blinders.

SHM may be gone forever but at least we have the memories to hold on to.
