TURN UP THE BASS scoured long and hard to bring you ten hot up & comers who not only have that special something but also the ambitiousness, drive, and game-winning attitude to really make it big this year. Here we bring you ten artists to watch in 2014!

Paris Blohm

LA-based producer Paris Blohm has built a name for himself on the underground by flooding the internet with free and label releases.  His tracks have been supported by Tiësto, Hardwell, Sander van Doorn, Nicky Romero, and many more.  The 23-year old producer is starting 2014 with a bang with the Protocol Recordings release of “Colors,” a track he made with trance titans Tritonal. “Colors” has been getting heavy buzz since the Amsterdam Dance Event Protocol Recordings label night when Nicky Romero played it and people instantly sang along.  In addition to “Colors,” Paris Blohm also has the uplifting progressive house belter “Left Behinds” featuring in-demand singer/songwriter Taylr Renee coming out in 2014.

Thomas Newson

19-year old Dutch producer Thomas Newson was behind two of 2013’s most captivating tracks. His banger “Pallaroid” had the biggest reception during Hardwell’s set at TomorrowLand with many people thinking it was a new smasher from Hardwell himself.  The second was “Flute,” a collab with Aussie brothers New World Sound that got everyone talking after its premiere at Amsterdam Dance Event.  Thomas Newson’s latest destroyer “Kalavela” is a collab with Flamingo Recordings artist John Dish.  “Kalavela” was premiered by Tiësto at EDC Vegas this year and since then it’s been played by Hardwell, R3hab, Martin Garrix, Dannic, Sander van Doorn, Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and W&W.  That’s an impressive support list! Besides “Kalavela” Thomas Newson has a new solo track “Don’t Hold Us” coming out on Armada in January/February.

Moska

Discovered in the legendary Laidback Luke forums by the Mixmash head honcho himself, Moska has come a long way in the past few years. Laidback Luke introduced his sound to Tiësto who was so impressed with the young Colombian that he asked Moska to make a remix with him for “Century” by Tiësto & Calvin Harris.  The remix was featured on Tiësto’s Club Life Vol.3 Stockholm compilation.  Tiësto also invited Moska to open up for him in Ibiza this past summer even helping him secure a visa to work in Europe. Laidback Luke’s protégé ended 2013 with a stint on Laidback Luke’s Musically Driven Bus Tour that swept through North America.  Surely things will heat up in 2014 as Moska continues to produce with some of the biggest artists in EDM such as Major Lazer, GTA, and Laidback Luke.

Hailing from the city of sin are up & coming producer duo Halfway House. Their trademark hard hitting sound has quickly gained the support of Hardwell, Tiësto, Showtek, Steve Aoki, W&W, Porter Robinson, Gareth Emery, and many more.  They’ve been growing with every release so much so that they’ve recently been signed to Hardwell’s publishing company, Cloud 9 publishing. Expect big things from Halfway House in 2014.

With early support from Avicii, “Howl at the Moon” is already being touted as the “progressive track of the year.”  After its release on Protocol Recordings in early 2014 you will certainly know the name Stadiumx.

Badd Dimes

If you have heard any of Blasterjaxx’s sets you would of heard Badd Dimes’ unique bangers!  Badd Dimes has a cultural heavy-hitting sound like Blasterjaxx and has joined forces with them on “Titan,” forthcoming in 2014. His productions have already gained the support of Carnage, Blasterjaxx, and Billy the Kit.  Badd Dimes is definitely capable of creating massive unique sounds making him an artist to watch in 2014.

Junkie Kid’s collab with Carnage is forthcoming on Musical Freedom Records and had label boss Tiësto tweeting, “Yoooo @djcarnage the song goes offfff!!” With upcoming releases on Spinnin’/Doorn Records you can expect to be hearing a lot more from Junkie Kid in 2014.

The German duo were first discovered by Fedde Le Grand in 2012.  2013 saw them put out a string of successful releases on Fedde’s Flamingo Recordings imprint such as “Toxic Rush” and “Flashbang.” Originally put out as a free download, the Jewelz & Scott Sparks bootleg of Benny Benassi’s classic “Satisfaction” was so well-received that Ultra Records has decided to put it out as an official release in January.
