Top 5 Russian EDM Artists – TURN UP THE BASS

From Russia with love comes a wealth of talented EDM artists.  The major cities in Russia all have solid clubbing scenes where you can find everything your heart desires.  Here we bring you TURN UP THE BASS’s picks for the top 5 Russian EDM artists!

5. Bobina

Dmitry Almazov, better known as Bobina, is a Moscow-based trance producer. He was the first Russian DJ to appear in the DJ Mag Top 100 list. Bobina has remixed artists such as Armin van Buuren, Supermode (Axwell & Steve Angello), Paul Oakenfold, and The Thrillseekers. He has also put out releases on labels Ministry of Sound, Armada and Nebula.

4. Matisse & Sadko

Brotherly duo Matisse & Sadko are Russia’s newest export.  After collaborating with Steve Angello on the Size release “SLVR”, they’ve been quickly making a name for themselves worldwide for their progressive house bombs.  Matisse & Sadko have been supported by DJs such as Arty, Sander van Doorn, Swedish House Mafia, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Thomas Gold, and Michael Woods.  Up next for Matisse & Sadko is the Doorn Records banger “Sigure.”

3. Swanky Tunes

Swanky Tunes have been making serious waves in the EDM scene since they released “Sending My Love” with R3hab & Max C and it became one of the most played dance-floor tracks in 2011.  Not fans of repetition, they’ve continued to release an incredibly eclectic mix of tracks such as “Stop In My Mind,” “Scratch,” “Pump,” and “Full House.”

2. Hard Rock Sofa

Russian house masters Hard Rock Sofa made their mark with the anthems “Here We Go,” “Quasar,” and “Rasputin.”  They are currently working on their debut album for Axtone Records and have the disco-infused banger “Arms Around Me” coming out very soon.

1. Arty

Coming in at number one is the genre-bending Russian boy wonder Arty.  In 2009, Arty released his first record ever at the age of 19.  After the success of his EP ‘Vanilla Sky’ in early 2010, his big break came later that year when Above & Beyond signed him to their label Anjunabeats.  Up next for Arty is a follow-up to “Rebound” with Mat Zo.
