Pharrell's Hat Stole The Show At The Grammys | TURN UP THE BASS

French robots Daft Punk might of been the big winners on Grammy night but there was one thing that everyone was talking about: Pharrell’s gigantic Mountie hat!  Pharrell like a boss got all the attention but didn’t have to twerk or lick anything like Miley did at the MTV VMAs.

Pharrell’s hat got its own Twitter account on Grammy night and kept the funnies rollings with tweets such as:

American fast food chain Arby’s joined in on the fun & Pharrell kept it cheeky with his response:

The hat also made a pre-Grammy appearance with Afrojack on New Year’s Eve:

So where did Pharrell get the idea to wear that enormous hat?  The hat is vintage Vivienne Westwood and Pharrell’s outfit was actually inspired by the video below from 1983 for “Buffalo Gals” by Vivienne Westwood’s close friend Malcolm McLaren.  “Buffalo Gals” may sound familiar since it was sampled by Eminem in his 2002 single “Without Me.”

Congrats to Pharrell & his hat on winning a Grammy for producer of the year, non-classical!
