Even though we have seen a shift towards the release of singles only there is still no denying the power of a full-length studio album.  From Daft Punk cleaning house at the Grammys to Calvin Harris holding the record for the most top ten hits from one studio album on the UK Singles Chart, a successful album is what every artist strives for.  Here are TURN UP THE BASS’s picks for the top 5 most eagerly anticipated albums of 2014!

5. Nicky Romero

Nicky Romero will be releasing his debut album this year.  The album’s first single is called “Wait For You” and features newcomer Ida on vocals.  Also confirmed for the album is another track with Calvin Harris, the follow-up to “Iron.” A new collab with David Guetta & Niles Mason called “Acid Rain” might appear on the album as well.

4. Fedde Le Grand

Dutch house pioneer Fedde Le Grand will be releasing his second studio album this year.  The final tracklist hasn’t been confirmed yet but some contenders are “You Got This,” “Lifted,” and from Ultra Music Festival “Don’t Give Up.”  Fedde also has a festival banger with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike in the pipeline and another high-profile collab with a Dutch artist he’s worked with in the past.

3. Afrojack

Afrojack’s debut album will definitely be different. He just posted an album teaser for a collab with hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg on his Instagram:

Afrojack spoke with MTV about the album saying, “It’s me producing what I think is cool at this time…it’s in between everything and it’s got some really unexpected collaborations…like I have some with Sting and an acoustic guitar.” Afrojack also teamed up with Matthew Koma, one of the most sought after singer/songwriters in the game, for the album’s big-room progressive anthem “Keep Our Love Alive.”  “Keep Our Love Alive” was debuted by Afrojack at last summer’s Creamfields.

2. Hardwell   After being named number one DJ by DJ Mag last year, Hardwell announced he was going to start working on his debut album due for release in 2014.  He just took the past month off the road to concentrate on its production. Hardwell caught up with Armin van Buuren recently at ASOT Amsterdam, where he spoke about the album saying, “Of course I’m going to experience a lot of like new, different styles. You know I’m a bit sick of the same formula that’s going on in EDM right now so I’m just trying to push boundaries and look at what’s going on in the rest of the world. Even in the hip-hop scene and the trance scene and try to combine as much as possible.”
